Creating a dynamic technology resource for 112 cities across America that can communicate the fiscal health, demographic profile, governance structure, socio-economic profile, debt profile, capital plan, presence and importance of industry and anchor institutions (airports, health care, academic), and the trajectory of that city over a multi-year time horizon is the focus of this project. The development approach includes research and data from the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and other leading institutions, input from government leaders and their advisors, a global survey of approaches in this realm, and engaging state and local governments to ensure the model reflects the data points they want to communicate about their communities. At completion, the dynamic electronic dashboards created through this process will be made available to any state or local government unit who wants to record and share a comprehensive snapshot of their community in one medium that transforms the way they work with data.
